"Hey everyone!
Today, let’s talk about something that confuses a lot of people on Snapchat —
‘My Eyes Only’ vs. ‘Private Stories’.
They sound similar, but they’re actually used for very different things. Let me explain with simple examples."
"First — My Eyes Only.
Think of this like a locker inside Snapchat that only you have the key to.
It’s meant to keep your photos and videos totally private.
Let’s say you took some pictures on vacation that are personal — you don’t want to delete them, but you also don’t want others to see them if they open your Snapchat.
You can move those snaps into ‘My Eyes Only’.
It’ll ask for a passcode every time you open it — and only you know the code.
Important: If you forget that passcode, you’ll lose access to everything inside. Snapchat won’t help you recover it."
"Now — Private Stories.
This feature is for sharing, but only with specific friends.
Example:
Let’s say you went to a concert, and you only want your close friends to see the videos — not everyone on your Snapchat.
You can create a Private Story and choose exactly who gets to see it — like your best friends only.
They’ll see it in their story feed, but they won’t know who else can see it.
It’s perfect for moments you want to share — but not with everyone."
"Quick recap:
My Eyes Only = Private locker for your eyes only. No one else can see it.
Private Stories = You’re still sharing snaps, but only with a few selected friends.
Hope that makes it super clear!"
