Today we're going to review the electoral map, as many of you have been wondering how the state you live in is doing, who is most likely to win, and what the polls say. Here I have the map of all the states, with the corresponding number of electoral votes, and we're going to fill it in state by state based on current polls. So, regardless of where you are, you'll be able to see if your state is leaning more Republican or Democrat, Trump or Kamala Harris.

Each state has a different number of electoral votes, based on its population, and the total votes are 538. The candidate who reaches 270 electoral votes first becomes the next president.
We're going to start with Washington State, which has 12 electoral votes. In past elections, this state has been consistently Democratic, so we'll assign those votes to Democrats. Then, in Oregon, with 8 votes, the polls also favor the Democrats, so we add those points to their total.
Moving on to California, with 54 votes, it is a clearly Democratic state, with Harris ahead in the polls. So we assign those votes to the Democrats, reaching 74 votes so far.
In Idaho, Trump has a significant lead in the polls, so it is a Republican state, and we assign those 4 votes to the Republicans. In Montana and Wyoming, Republicans also dominate, adding more red votes to the map.
Jumping to Colorado, with a recent Democratic history, we assign its 10 votes to the Democrats, who now have 84. New Mexico is also going Democratic, while Utah is Republican, so both parties continue to add.
Texas, with 40 votes, shows Trump ahead, so we assign it to the Republicans. In other Republican states like Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska, Trump also leads, further consolidating his vote base.
In swing states like Nevada and Arizona, where both parties have strong support, we'll save those for last. Moving on, in the Midwest region, we assign North Dakota and South Dakota's votes to Republicans, following current trends.
Then, in the Southeast, states like Louisiana and Arkansas favor Trump, while Illinois is Democratic. Each party continues to rack up votes in their usual strongholds. In Kentucky and Tennessee, Trump leads the polls, so we assign those votes to Republicans.
As we fill in the map, we can see that many of the middle states are the ones that will define the election. In short, this map shows the current direction according to the polls, but in the coming months, these numbers could change depending on the campaigns and the political situation.
We will continue to update this map and check how the electoral situation evolves in each state. Thank you for joining us and don't forget to subscribe to stay informed about the news of the electoral process!
...Republicans are at 156 and Democrats at 119. There are still quite a few votes left to be allocated, especially in the battleground states. We continue with some of the large states that can swing either way, such as Florida, North Carolina, and Georgia.
Florida
Florida is a crucial state with 30 electoral votes. In the 2020 election, Trump won Florida by 3 points over Biden, and in 2016 he beat Hillary Clinton by roughly the same margin. Currently, polls show Trump with a slight lead over Kamala Harris in this state. Because of this consistent trend toward Republicans, we will assign Florida to Republicans, bringing their total to 186 electoral votes.
North Carolina
Another key state is North Carolina, with 16 electoral votes. In 2020, Trump won the state by 1.3 points, and in 2016 he also carried it by a similar margin. Current polls suggest that Trump continues to hold a slight lead in the state, indicating a lean toward the Republican party. So we assign North Carolina to the Republicans, bringing its total to 202 electoral votes.
Georgia
Georgia, with its 16 electoral votes, is another battleground state that has been unpredictable in recent cycles. Biden won this state by a very narrow margin in 2020, while in previous years it was Republican. Currently, polls show a virtual tie between Harris and Trump, but given the slight lead Democrats have had in recent polls, we will assign Georgia to the Democrats, bringing its total to 135 electoral votes.
Ohio
Ohio, which has 17 electoral votes, is a state that has historically been a key predictor. In past elections, Trump won Ohio in 2020 and 2016 by margins of around 8 points. Current polls show Trump with a sizable lead in the state. Therefore, we assign Ohio to the Republicans, bringing their total to 219 electoral votes.
Virginia
Virginia has 13 electoral votes and has been a Democratic stronghold in recent elections. In 2020, Biden won Virginia by 10 points and Clinton won it by 5 points in 2016. Current polls show Harris with a comfortable lead in Virginia, so we assign this state to the Democrats, bringing them to 148 electoral votes.
Pennsylvania
With 19 electoral votes, Pennsylvania is another swing state that has alternated between the two parties. Biden won Pennsylvania by a narrow margin in 2020, and current polls indicate Harris and Trump are very close in this state. However, due to the Democratic lead in recent polls, we assign Pennsylvania to the Democrats, bringing them to 167 electoral votes.
Michigan
Michigan, with 15 electoral votes, is another of the “Rust Belt” states that Biden won in 2020. Current polls indicate a slight lead for Harris over Trump, so we assign Michigan to the Democrats, bringing her total to 182 electoral votes.
Wisconsin
Wisconsin, with 10 electoral votes, is a state that Biden won in 2020 by a very small margin. Like Michigan and Pennsylvania, Wisconsin is hotly contested. Polls suggest a slight tilt toward Harris, so we assign Wisconsin to the Democrats, bringing her total to 192 electoral votes.
Arizona
Arizona, with 11 electoral votes, has been another swing state. Biden won Arizona in 2020, though it has historically been Republican. Current polls show a tie between Harris and Trump, but due to the recent shift toward Democrats, we will assign Arizona to the Democrats, bringing them to 203 electoral votes.
Nevada
Nevada has 6 electoral votes, and while it has been a Democratic state in recent elections, it remains competitive. Biden won Nevada by a slim margin in 2020, and current polls suggest a slight lead for Harris. So we assign Nevada to the Democrats, bringing them to 209 electoral votes.
Final Summary:
- Democrats: 209 electoral votes
- Republicans: 219 electoral votes
- Remaining battleground states: Texas, Minnesota, and a few other smaller states
In the end, the key states that have yet to be decided will play a crucial role in reaching the necessary 270 votes.
